COVID-19 Business Update and Our Commitment to Health and Safety
1) We will be screening all patients for COVID-19 symptoms before entering our practice.
2) We will ask that upon entering our clinic, that you immediately wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
3) We will ask that you wear a mask to your appointment and keep it on during the duration of your time in the clinic.
4) We will ask that you call us when you are outside our practice, so we know you have arrived.
5) Patient flow into the office will be controlled and hence "walk-ins" will be asked to wait outside or in their car until we can work them into the schedule if at all possible.
6) We ask that you arrive at your appointment alone unless you are a minor and/or require adult supervision then we will allow one caregiver inside.
7) We will be practicing safe distancing within the clinic and we ask that you do your best to keep a minimum of 6 feet between you and other patients. We will have guidelines within the clinic to facilitate this request.
8) We have temporarily closed our waiting-room area, and will ask that you wait in your car until we let you enter.
9) We will be aware of common "touch points" within the clinic such as doorknobs, counters, keyboard, phones, credit card machines, pens, etc... and will be disinfecting these as often as possible.
10) All instruments that patients will come to touch will be thoroughly disinfected between each exam.
11) Discussions with doctors and staff will be kept to a minimum. Follow-up phone calls or tele-health video conferencing will be used as often as possible.
12) Clear, acrylic partitions have been put in front of our reception desk and our equipment.
13) All of our staff and doctors will be wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, face-shields and gowns.
14) All glasses tried on by our patients will be thoroughly cleaned with a mixture of soap, water and hydrogen peroxide before they are returned to their respective show cases. We ask that you let us handle the frames from the case to you and back to prevent cross-contamination with the frames.
15) We will continue using our retinal imaging equipment, our autorefractor and Goldmann Applanation Tonometry when necessary for our glaucoma patients. Existing patients can op-out this year if they are at low risk for glaucoma.
16) Once again, all instruments will be sterilized with hydrogen peroxide between each patient.
17) No contact lens trainings will take place at this time to reduce time between trainer and patient. We will only offer to evaluate your contact lens fitting so we can renew your contact lens prescription.
18) We appreciate your efforts in keeping with the protocols laid out by the city and the San Francisco Health Department.
19) We realize that none of this is normal. We are pleased to resume our services on June 1st 2020. Please call or schedule an appointment on our site before coming to the store to avoid having to wait outside until we can fit you into the schedule.
We greatly appreciate your support and hope that the new protocols put in place will put you at ease for your visit.
